Founder's Story

Cycle Breaker Mission was born from lived experience; a journey through family violence, survival, and ultimately rebuilding a life from the ground up. Our founder experienced firsthand the devastating impact of family violence and the long, complex path that follows leaving. After walking away from an abusive marriage, she faced the reality of starting over, navigating safe separation, financial instability, and the family court system while working to create safety and stability for her children.

Through resilience, determination, and the support of her village and people who believed in her, she slowly rebuilt her life. But rebuilding also revealed something deeper.

While crisis services exist to help women leave violence, far fewer supports exist to help them rebuild stable, independent lives afterward. Too many women are left navigating complex legal systems, financial hardship, and housing instability alone while trying to create a safe future for their children. Determined to turn her experience into something meaningful, she returned to study as an adult, completing training in domestic violence crisis counselling and paralegal studies so she could better support women facing the same challenges she once navigated herself. That insight became the foundation for Cycle Breaker Mission; an organisation dedicated to walking alongside women as they rebuild, offering support, guidance, and pathways toward stability, independence, and hope.

I know what it feels like to lose everything and have to start again while forced to navigate the Family Court system. I also know what it feels like to finally feel safe, stable, and hopeful about the future. Every woman deserves that opportunity.
